AND THE BEAT GOES ON
Okay this is the latest. After conferring with my pulmonary doctor (Dr.B.) this afternoon, it was mutually decided that going under the knife again would serve no purpose other than to stress me to the max and quite possibly deprive me of the hearing in my one good ear (we all know what happened during the first surgery in 2009) and have me drive the poor nurses to distraction. Therefore, I will keep the appointment with Dr. D (the oncologist) on March the 18th and determine whether or not to begin chemotherapy. I am very much relieved.
Unfortunately the genetic testing of the primary tumor showed that I am not a candidate for the "smart pill", so I will have to undergo the standard therapy, which means infusion. I have been assured that it will not be as hard on me as I have imagined and further, if I do suffer unpleasant side effects, he will adjust it. We'll see. I promise to be a good girl and do as the doctor advises. I really do want to live as good a life as possible for as long as possible.
And that does it for the medical portion of this blog. Tom and I went out for dinner tonight at the new restaurant next to DSW and where Borders Books used to be. The name escapes me, but it's seafood and very good. The Bonefish Grill? Anyway, if you're in the area and like seafood, I recommend it. Also if you like Italian, my pick is Piazza Sorrento across from the Hershey Med Center. Great food.
Well, as you can tell, my appetite has not diminished, nor has my waistline I just realized I've worn the same two pairs of slacks all winter while the other ones just languish in my closet. They're perfectly good, clean and not worn out. Why don't I wear them. Could it be that they don't fit???
I am looking forward to getting back to the Life Center to work some of these pounds off so I can look good in the new spring togs I'm going to have to buy. Also looking forward to a possible trip to S.C. to visit Tom's cousin and then to Myrtle Beach for a much needed break from this gloom and doom.
