OH NO!
I had an accident today. I didn't slip. I didn't slide. I didn't stumble. I FELL INTO A PLATE OF SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS!
See when you live with an Italian who sometimes likes to make meatballs and sauce and the house fills with an aroma that calls to you, you just can't help yourself. First I was just going to taste a meatball. What could the harm in that be? They were made with garlic and an egg and Italian breadcrumbs and an onion and then broiled. It was very, very good.
Then we went to Lancaster and I got a cortizone shot for my arthritic knee then went to the Honda dealer and got my Honda' s state inspection, tire rotation and oil change to the tune of $95.30.
By the time we got home, it was 5:00 p.m. and I was in my usual starvation state. Tom then made the sauce with crushed tomatoes and basil and added the meatballs. By this time I was nearly out of my mind. So...I threw caution to the winds and got out my Barilla multigrain thin spaghetti, cooked it and had two meatballs and sauce and enjoyed the first meal I've had in a month! I didn't eat it all. I tried to restrain myself. There is a little dish left with a meatball for tomorrow's lunch with a huge salad. For dessert I had celery with almond butter. I am drinking copious amounts of water, hoping to wash everything out.
And you know what, I wish I could say I was sorry, but I'm not. Once in awhile I have to eat. And another thing, I'll bet I'll sleep better tonight than I have in a long time because I won't be starving.
Now for the good news. There is a half gallon of frozen yogurt with peanut butter M&M's in the freezer. Have I touched it? No. Am I going to? No.
Tomorrow I will go back to strictly vegetables, nuts and whatever else is not on the forbidden food list. Okay?
