IT'S ABOUT GUN CONTROL
Surprise, surprise. This is not going to be about my struggle to eat healthily. It's not going to be about chemo or cancer or any of that. It is going to be about guns.. You heard me guns.
I have always hated guns. My father had guns. He liked to go hunting. I hated the thought that he would go out and shoot living things. My brother too had guns. And he also liked to go hunting, maybe even more so than my father. Now even though I didn't like guns (to put it mildly) I respected their right to have them.
What I don't understand is why the NRA and gun activists are so opposed to a ban on assault weapons, large capacity magazines and background checks. The majority of citizens in the U.S. want these laws passed. They do not want to take away the 2nd Amendment rights. They are not saying no one should have guns. They are not saying that the rights of private citizens to defend themselves should be denied. What they are saying is, there is no logical reason anyone needs an assault weapon. For what reason? And why the need for 100 capacity magazines. WHY? Can anyone answer that question.
And another thing, why are some people opposed to background checks? If people have nothing to hide there should be no reason not to insist on them. Is there? Invasion of privacy? Come on, isn't it better to know who is buying weapons of mass destruction than to just issue them to every Joe Blow who wants one? Isn't it?
Okay, that's my rant for the day.
